Hello!
I'm Eris, a software developer living in Antipolo, Philippines. Welcome to my blog where I write about my interests.
I have over 8 years of experience developing apps. I have a wide range of technical knowledge in building mobile and web applications.
Early in my career, I was an Android developer at CoreProc. Later then, I was given the opportunity to do iOS development. The caveat is that I had to rely on free online resources and the local community since there are no other iOS developers in the company. Learning iOS brought me the opportunity to work on the UnionBank Online app which is well-known for its digital transformation journey.
I have led the iOS development of UnionBank Online during my stay at White Cloak. I was part of the team that built and released the MVP. It was fun being surrounded by innovative people. We refactored the codebase as it grew for it to be workable for a lot of teams. After UnionBank Online, I was given the chance to lead the development team of Zing at Ayala Malls. During this time, I was also doing backend development work at White Cloak and from personal and side projects.
I then moved to Macquarie where I did web frontend and backend development. Working in the Privileged Access Management (PAM) team under Cybersecurity taught me the importance of security and the way they do DevSecOps. During this time, I was still doing mobile projects on the side - using native and flutter.
After my contract ended with Macquarie, I started working full-time at my company, Exploretale Technologies. Equipped with my past experiences and my network of friends who are also experienced in their fields, we have built projects for startups like KargaX and TakeFive Outdoors that later became part of QBO’s Top 100 Startups in 2021. This attempt to run my own business only lasted more than a year. I had to go back to working full-time in a different company. I went back to UnionBank as a Technical Lead.
I like outdoor activities though I haven't gotten back to it yet since the pandemic. I used to join road and mountain runs. I also used to swim and hike. Right now, my only hobby is staying at home and tinkering around my Homelab. I hope to get back soon to being active!
Thank you for reading this far. I'll provide as much value as I can. I will write mostly about tech and personal development. If you want to connect, shoot me an email at [email protected].
